Three Step AI Integration
My first semester integrating GenAI happened in 3 major phases. The first was preparing students ahead of time to my course structure, followed by building their background knowledge of GenAI in education, and finally moved to hands-on projects where students actively used GenAI tools. This approach ensured a gradual and comprehensive understanding of AI's capabilities and limitations.
Step 1: Preparing Students
Although I teach a comp/rhet course, I would suggest any course interested in integrating AI would do well to prepare students ahead of time.
To the right is the published Google Doc I email to students prior to class starting to explain how and why the course is set up the way it is.
Step 3: Introducing Prompts & Chatbots
To the right is the prompt game students play to get them more comfortable with using the chatbot.
